re-Genesis is the daily companion to the book re-Genesis by Theunis Pienaar. It is free on the App Store and Google Play, and the same codebase also runs on the web.

Inside the app

  • A morning ritual: the Five Gestures, under five minutes, as the anchor of the day.
  • Somatic exercises tied to each chapter of the book, unlocked as the reader moves through it.
  • A journal, private to the reader.
  • A patchwork quilt that fills in one patch per day: a calm view of progress, with no streak pressure and no game.

Try it on this page

The demo here is the real app, built for the web and filled with sample data as if a reader were about ten weeks in. Today is left open for you to try. Nothing is collected; it all stays in your browser.

Built with

  • Expo (React Native) and TypeScript: one codebase for iOS, Android and the web
  • No backend: everything lives on the device, so it works fully offline
  • React Navigation and React Context
  • A custom design system, and a hand-built animated patchwork quilt
  • Built and submitted to the stores with EAS

Its home on the web is the author site, which carries the app’s privacy policy.
